*Dark blue (midnight blue 87): approx. 16 g

Size 1: Head circumference 54–56 cm after felting (measured around the widest part of your head)

10 cm x 10 cm = 12 single crochet stitches x 16 rows (before felting)

About polar (hat)
polar (hat) is your best friend against both cold and heat! It is designed to protect your ears while sitting in the sauna, but it can also protect your ears from the chill on a cold winter day. The felting process makes the stitches completely dense so heat and cold cannot penetrate through. Read more about felting at the end of the pattern.

About the pattern
The hat is worked in rounds using single crochet stitches. Join each round with a slip stitch in the first stitch of the round, ch 1 and turn (does not count as the first stitch). It is important to turn after every round, as the print will otherwise slant. Never crochet into the slip stitch.

The pattern includes 4 color charts: 'orca' size 1+2, and 'penguin' size 1+2. I recommend having experience reading colorwork charts. Alternatively, the hat can be worked in a solid color or in a striped pattern. Simply follow the same number of rounds with and without increases for your chosen size.
